Macedonian Association of Ottawa
The Macedonian Association of Ottawa was established in 1983 aiming to bring together all Macedonians living in the Ottawa area and develop the high ideals of their Hellenic Heritage.
The Association’s main objectives are to:
- preserve Hellenic culture, language and customs
- promote Hellenism in Ottawa
The Macedonian Association of Ottawa Members have proudly participated in numerous Hellenic and Canadian cultural, religious and educational activities, always under the aegis of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa.
The Macedonian Association of Ottawa played a significant role in the organization of the Pan-
Canadian demonstration which took place in the front of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, on
February 29th ,1993. Thirty thousand Greek Canadians and philhellenes from all over Canada
demonstrated with the slogan “Macedonia is Greek”.
The Members of the Macedonian Association of Ottawa have enthusiastically taken active part in multiple events organized for the preservation of the Hellenic nature of Macedonia, both in Canada and the Unites States.
In February 1992, the Macedonian Association dynamically participated, as a member of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa contingency, in the, with over 30,000 vocal attendants, demonstration at the Canadian Parliament Hill protesting the usurping of the, historically millennia long, Hellenic identity of Macedonia.

Ο Σύλλογος Μακεδόνων Οττάβας και Περιχώρων «Μέγας Αλέξανδρος» ιδρύθηκε στις 14 Νοεμβρίου 1983 από μια ομάδα Μακεδόνων της Οττάβας και πρώτη πρόεδρο την Άννα Sullivan.
Στόχοι του συλλόγου είναι:
- να ενώσει όλους τους Μακεδόνες που ζουν στην περιοχή της Οττάβας σε μια δυναμική
κοινωνική ομάδα, - να διαφυλάξει τα ιδανικά και να προωθήσει τον Ελληνισμό στην Οττάβα.
Ο Σύλλογος Μακεδόνων Οττάβας έπαιξε σημαντικό ρόλο στη διοργάνωση του Πανκαναδικού Συλλαλητηρίου που πραγματοποιήθηκε στην Οττάβα μπροστά από το Καναδικό Κοινοβούλιο στις 29 Φεβρουαρίου 1993. Τριάντα χιλιάδες Ελληνοκαναδοί και φιλέλληνες από όλο τον Καναδά διαδήλωσαν με την σύνθημα «Η Μακεδονία είναι Ελληνική».
