Schools and Youth Groups

Our various schools and youth groups help teach the next generation about the Greek culture, language, and Orthodox faith.

Sunday School

Sunday School aims to make Sunday mornings a fun learning experience for children. Activities include crafts, songs, discussion, group activities, and attending Liturgy.

Hellenic School of Ottawa

The Hellenic School of Ottawa provides students with fundamental knowledge of the Greek language and the country’s rich history. Classes run Saturday mornings between September and April.

HCO Dance School

Ages 5 to 25

The goal of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa Dance School is to keep Greek tradition alive through dance, music, and costumes. Students are taught Greek dances from all over Greece, as well as the history and heritage behind them.

Odyssey Dance Troupe

Ages 16 to 25

The Odyssey Dance Troupe is the Hellenic Community of Ottawa’s premiere performing group specializing in authentic and traditional dances from various regions of Greece.

G.O.Y.A.

Ages 12 to 18

The goal of GOYA is to form bonds of fellowship with peers as well as solidifying our Greek Orthodox Christian beliefs and faith. GOYA members participate in monthly meetings and group activities. The group strives to provide an environment where youth can live and learn our Orthodox faith and culture by participating in charitable events and group activities.

H.O.P.E.

Infant to 4 years

HOPE is a drop-in co-operative playgroup for Greek Orthodox families with young children (infant – 4 yrs) and members of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa.

J.O.Y.

Ages 5 to 11

The Junior Orthodox Youth (J.O.Y.) (5-8)  and Jr. G.O.Y.A (9-11)  program aims to provide our children time and space so that they may learn, experience and share their Orthodox Faith with other children of their age group.
