Like every year, the Hellenic
Dance School of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa host a end of year recital for
all friends and family to come out and be entertained. This year was a
resounding success and was very well attended.

This year our up-and-coming group went and enthused the many festival goers.
From all accounts, they did a great job!

Every year our community celebrates the independence of the Hellenic nation from the bonds of slavery of the Ottoman Empire in 1821. This day celebrates freedom and peace and is a proud day for all Hellenes.

As part of the President of
Greece's Canadian tour, he stopped long enough in Ottawa for the Hellenic
Community of Ottawa to host him and his entourage. The evening consisted of a
showcase of our community's talents which included song, dance, poems and
speeches.
We were fortunate enough to perform twice for the President, one mainland and one island performance. After many weeks of practice and some 5 hours before the actual event, our dance group performed flawlessly for the event. It was a resounding success.
Many thanks goes out the the
event organizers for including us in the evening....it was a night to remember

Annual Dance

Parnassos made the theme of their annual dance centered around the
Ionian islands. We performed an ensemble of Ionian island scenes and dances. The
costumes and dancing made for a colourful event.
